Thank you to those who attended this years’ annual meeting at the Westin Hotel in Boston. It was another successful year with record breaking attendance of over 1,300. The student program, 400 in attendance, continues to grow under the direction of the delegation. We will continue to provide our members with a quality educational program and business meeting.
At the awards banquet, we honored those colleagues who have volunteered and gave of their time and expertise to advance the profession of Athletic Training. In particular, the executive board ispleased to recognize Marjorie King and James Thornton. Because of their commitment to the profession and the EATA, we have named two presentations after them. The keynote address within the student program will now be know as the James L. Thornton Keynote Address. Also, the Research to Reality presentation will now be know as the Marjorie A. King Research to Reality Presentation.
We gave out 10 scholarships to deserving students to advance their educational pursuits in Athletic Training. We also recognized research completed by our members through abstract and poster presentations.
I look forward to celebrating our association’s 65th anniversary in Buffalo.
